24-hour rotating bezel
This model features a black dial and a two-tone gray and black Cerachrom ceramic bezel. In addition to the traditional hour, minute and seconds hands, the GMT-Master II is equipped with independent 24-hour hands and a bi-directional rotating bezel with a 24-hour scale, which is uniquely colored to indicate the reference time in the first time zone (e.g. place of residence), and which can be read off on the scale on the opposite side of the bezel. The cleverly designed independent regulating hands allow the wearer to adjust the time easily via the winding crown, without affecting the minute and seconds hands. The traveler can therefore read the time at both the place of departure and the place of location at any given time, ensuring precision.
Black dial
Like all Rolex professional watches, the GMT-Master II's unique Chromalight luminous display ensures a clear reading of the time in all conditions, even in the dark. The oversized hands and the simple triangular, circular or rectangular hour markers are coated with luminescent material for a long-lasting glow.
Gold Steel
Gold is a beautiful, noble, and fascinating thing to behold. Steel is strong and trustworthy. The harmony of the two is combined with other characteristics. Gold and steel were the hallmark features of Rolex watches from the early 1930s until 1933, when the trademark name was officially registered. It is also one of the distinctive features of the OYSTER collection.
