Tachymeter
The Cosmograph Daytona, with its tachymeter bezel, three time dials and time buttons, is a timekeeping tool especially designed for endurance racers. On the outer ring of the watch is a tachymeter, which allows the driver to read out the average speed over a specific distance in a given period of time, based on elapsed time. The tachymeter's clear display makes the Cosmograph Daytona the ideal speed measurement tool, with a top speed of 400 miles per hour or kilometers per hour.
Glossy black and day-glo gold dial
The glossy black and day-glo gold face of the watch features a snailed small seconds dial, gold hour markers and hands coated with easy-to-read Chromalight luminescent material. The central seconds hand is accurate to 1/8th of a second, and the hour and minute counters at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock show the elapsed time in hours and minutes respectively. This allows the driver to know exactly how much time has elapsed and to decide how to travel the rest of the way to victory.
18K Eternal Rose Gold
To preserve the beauty of its pink gold watches, Rolex created 18K Eternal Rose Gold at its foundry and patented this pink alloy. Since its launch in 2005, 18K Eternal Rose Gold has been used in the manufacture of pink gold Rolex OYSTER watches.
