Tachymeter
The signature feature of the watch is the cast tachymeter bezel, which is capable of measuring speeds up to 400 mph or km/h. The black bezel combines high technology with a sleek design reminiscent of the 1965 model with a black plastic glass bezel. The black bezel combines high technology with a sleek design reminiscent of the 1965 model with a black plastic glass bezel.
The high-tech Cerachrom ceramic bezel has a number of advantages: it is resistant to corrosion and scratches, and its color does not fade even when exposed to UV rays. In addition to its extreme durability, the tachymeter on the bezel is also visible at a glance, as the tachymeter is coated with a platinum film on the numerals and indexes using PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) technology. The Cerachrom bezel is molded in one piece, which helps to keep the mirror fixed in the case and ensures waterproofness.
White dial
The white dial of the watch features a snailed seconds subdial, gold hour markers and hands coated with easy-to-read Chromalight luminescent material. The central seconds hand is accurate to 1/8th of a second, and the hour and minute counters at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock show the elapsed time in hours and minutes, respectively. This allows the driver to know exactly how much time has elapsed and to decide how to travel the rest of the way to victory.
OYSTER STEEL
Rolex uses OYSTER STEEL to forge its steel watch cases. The OYSTER steel developed by the brand belongs to the group of 904L steels, an alloy used extensively in high-tech, aeronautical and chemical applications, and which is therefore necessarily highly resistant to corrosion. OYSTER STEEL is extremely durable and shines brilliantly when polished, even in extreme environments
