There’s a little carbonic maceration and a tiny amount of white Rhone varieties in the mix here. This wine started out as dry-red flagons in the 1950s and has long been a lynchpin of the family’s endeavors. The generosity here is undeniable, the tannins are sturdy and the fruit aromas and flavors run from red to darker-berry notes. There’s sure-footed balance in play. Such generous fruit here. JS
