Margon was founded in 1965 by Fiorella and Gianfranco Maronati.The name of the company was formed by the first 3 letters of the surname "Maronati" and the first 3 letters of the word -"gonna", which means "skirt" in Italian. The company originally produced just skirts and was very successful thanks to their high quality standards, exclusive designs and perfect fit.In the early 70s, shirts and sweaters were added to create the first coordinates. In the 1980s, the coordinates became a total look. Various designers have contributed to the collections' development over the years (such as Walter Albini, Miguel Cruz, Tomaso Stefanelli, etc.).In addition to the production of its own collections, for some years the company has produced garments for important fashion brands such as Prada, Agnona, Herno, Loro Piana, Marni and, as a licensee for the Peter Som and Lancetti collections.The company is positioned in the highly specialized women's pret-a-porter market and directly handles the entire production process: the design, the purchasing of materials, the careful selection of collaborating workshops, up to the final quality control inspections and shipment of the garments. Global distribution is managed directly by the company through selected multi-brand boutiques and local distributors. Its production know-how is noteworthy and guarantees high-level production standards. Margon is known for its high-quality products, its distinctive design research and craftsmanship, and is faithful to the concept of an exclusively Made in Italy product.Our marketsInternational by vocation. The reference market for the brand is international, which accounts for 85% of sales, while the remaining 15% is the national market.Margon distributes its products through a high-end distribution network, using multi-brand retail channels and department stores. The distribution methods are carefully selected and sophisticated: the choice of commercial channels is defined by the positioning of the brand in the market, in partnership with dealers in Moscow, London, Tokyo and Seoul.Nowadays the company operates with its own showroom in Milan, managed by a local team and selected agents and distributors.
